Happy new year!  It is hard to believe that it is already 2016.  I am looking forward to all that this year has in store for everyone.  Our class continues to learn new skills together.  Before we went on winter break, we participated in “The Hour of Code” and absolutely loved it.  We plan to continue improving our coding skills throughout the year.  We also tried to finalize our California region commercials.  Some of us have a few more final touches to make before we publish them.

As we begin the second half of our school year, we look forward to learning about the California natives and how Spanish settlement affected their lives.  We begin our study by reading Island of the Blue Dolphins, one of my favorite novels.  We will post our thoughts and discoveries as we learn about Karana’s struggles for survival.
